A Fall Engagement Photoshoot at Sunrise
There’s something extra speacial about a fall engagement photoshoot—especially when it takes place at sunrise by the water. With crisp morning air, golden light glinting off Lake Ontario, and the quiet calm of a new day beginning, Hayley and Dylan’s couples session at Bath Centennial Park was the perfect way to celebrate their story.
Though they aren’t officially engaged (yet!), this cozy, heartfelt couples session brought all the warmth, joy, and anticipation of everything to come.
Hayley and Dylan’s fall engagement photoshoot felt less like a portrait session and more like a quiet celebration of everything their love has already grown into.
A Not-Quite-Yet Engagement Session (But Almost!)
When Hayley entered my Free Engagement Session Experience, she shared a tender hope: Dylan hadn’t proposed yet, but maybe—just maybe—this session would give him the perfect chance to do it.
The ring had already been picked. Her parents were in the loop. And Dylan had been dropping playful hints for weeks: “We’ll be wedding planning by fall.”
While he didn’t pop the question that morning, the whole session was soaked in love, laughter, and quiet anticipation. It wasn’t official yet, but you could feel it—this was the beginning of forever.
A Love Story Meant to Be
Hayley and Dylan met in the early days of COVID-19 in 2020 at the gym—two strangers on neighboring workout machines. Dylan made the first move, asking if she’d let him know when she finished with her set. Simple. Casual. Game-changing.
Then fate doubled down. “I was newly single and just joined a dating app,” Hayley told me. “He was the second or third person I saw.” That swipe led to endless conversations, a new puppy, and a life full of shared routines and slow weekend mornings.
Their story? Equal parts serendipity and steadfastness.
Sunrise on Lake Ontario
The morning of their session, the lake greeted us with pastel skies and cool, crisp air. It was quiet. Peaceful. Exactly what a fall couples photoshoot should feel like.
Hayley layered a black quilted vest over a light long-sleeve shirt, with ripped jeans and ankle boots. Dylan showed up in classic fall flannel—red and black over a gray tee, with jeans and brown shoes. Casual. Effortless. So them.
From soft laughter to Dylan’s six-skip rock toss (yes, six!), the whole session was relaxed and playful—never forced. Just the kind of connection that can’t be posed.
Rooted in What Matters
From the soft golden light to the layers of flannel and denim, this fall engagement photoshoot captured everything we love about the season—authenticity, warmth, and presence.
More than the outfits or the light, what stood out most was their love for family. Dylan is one of seven siblings. Hayley’s extended family is close-knit and full of tradition. That depth of connection runs through their future wedding plans, too.
One of the most touching details? Hayley plans to repurpose her grandmother’s wedding dress into linens for their sweetheart table. A beautiful way to weave legacy into their new beginning.
They dream of a destination wedding—maybe Costa Rica or St. Lucia. Until then, you’ll find them golfing, cooking, playing with their pup, and soaking up the sweetness of “almost engaged.”
The Countdown to Forever
One of my favorite parts of a fall engagement photoshoot is how the season invites couples to slow down and be fully present with each other—and Hayley and Dylan embodied that beautifully.
While this wasn’t the proposal moment. But it was still a celebration. A slow, sacred kind of milestone—the kind that doesn’t need a diamond to feel real.
Hayley and Dylan, thank you for letting me witness this chapter of your love story. I have no doubt that whatever comes next will be just as rich, heartfelt, and joy-filled as this sunrise on the lake.
