Your Guide to a Kualoa Ranch Wedding

Kualoa Ranch wedding at Paliku Gardens: bride laughing in a haku lei with her groom

Some backdrops need no decoration at all.

At Paliku Gardens, the mountains rise straight up behind you, Kāneʻohe Bay opens out in front, and Mokoliʻi Island sits offshore like it was placed there for the photo. It’s one of the most recognizable settings on Oahu, and it’s every bit as moving in person as it looks online.

If a Kualoa Ranch wedding is on your shortlist, here’s what to know before you book.

📍 Where Is Paliku Gardens?

Paliku Gardens is Kualoa Ranch’s wedding venue on Oahu’s windward coast, along Kamehameha Highway on the Kāneʻohe side of the island. It sits at the base of the Kānehoalani peak, with views of Kāneʻohe Bay, the Koʻolau mountain range, rolling pastures, gardens and Mokoliʻi Island.

Three Lawns, a Pavilion and a Plan for Rain

Paliku is built for celebrations of real size, with options that give you flexibility on the day.

Three lawns. The Main Lawn and the Bowl Lawn each seat up to 250 guests, and the Water Tower Lawn seats up to 150.

An open-air pavilion. A covered space for dinner, dancing or a backup ceremony.

A permanent tent. A 40-by-60-foot white top tent with string lighting sits on the main lawn, which makes for a beautiful glow once the sun goes down.

A get-ready suite. An air-conditioned suite with its own private bathroom, so the morning stays calm and comfortable.

For a windward wedding, that combination matters. The trade winds bring passing showers to this side of the island, and having the pavilion and tent steps away means a little rain doesn’t have to ruin your celebration.

What's Included at Paliku Gardens

According to Kualoa Ranch, the rental includes:

  • Tables and 150 white resin chairs
  • The air-conditioned get-ready suite
  • The 40×60 tent with string lighting on the main lawn
  • A food prep area with refrigerator, sink and counter space
  • Restrooms, water, electricity and parking for roughly 80 cars

Kualoa Ranch also offers catering from its own team, including ranch-grown beef, pork, lamb, seafood, fruit, vegetables and flowers.

How Much Does a Kualoa Ranch Wedding Cost?

As of October 2026, Kualoa Ranch publishes the Paliku Gardens rental at $6,495 plus tax on weekends and $5,495 plus tax on weekdays. Catering, florals, photography and other vendors are separate. Confirm current pricing directly with the ranch, since venues update their rates.

Choosing Your Vendors

Kualoa Ranch keeps a preferred vendor list, and many couples hire directly from it. You aren’t limited to it, though. Vendors who aren’t on the list are welcome too, so you can bring the planner, florist or photographer you already love and trust.

Venue Hours

Events run from 10 am to 10 pm, with music off at 10 pm and vendors off the property by 11 pm. When you build your timeline, fit getting ready, the ceremony, portraits and the reception inside that window.

Plan for Power, Heat and Bugs

Paliku is an outdoor venue tucked against the mountains, and a little planning keeps the night comfortable for everyone.

Bring backup power. Power outages happen out here. Ask your DJ, caterer and lighting team whether they bring backup generators, so the music and lights keep going even if the power doesn’t.

Keep your guests comfortable. The windward side can be warm and humid, especially under a tent, and the lush gardens come with mosquitoes and flies. Large fans help with both, since a steady breeze keeps the bugs at bay, and they’ll need generator power too if the electricity cuts out. For something worked into the design, consider tabletop fire bowls with citronella, and confirm the venue’s open-flame rules with your planner first.

A Photographer's Notes on Paliku

Most couples treat the mountains as the main event and opt for simple florals and a ceremony arch. The beauty of this venue, though, is that it’s more or less a blank slate. The grandeur of the mountains, coupled with on-top-of-the-world views, lends itself to opulent design. At Paliku, the sky is the limit.

Plan around the light. Because the mountains rise to the west, the sun slips behind the ridge before official sunset, and the light softens early. That gentle, even glow is beautiful for portraits. It simply means your golden hour arrives a little sooner than it would on a west-facing beach. Check the sunset times for your month and plan portraits earlier than that.

Use the whole property. Between the lawns, the gardens and the views toward Mokoliʻi, you can get a remarkable variety of portraits without leaving the venue.

Give yourselves a few quiet minutes. After the ceremony, step away from the crowd for portraits with the mountains behind you. It’s often the part of the day couples remember most clearly.
